Grove Creek Medical Center(GMC) is currently developing a program to promote child literacy from birth. Working with community resources, GCMC plans to distribute free materials to foster literacy among children ages 0-5. These resources will include pamphlets on reading to children and how to obtain library cards, books, and other educational supplies. Our program plans to not only increase general reading proficiency in the population, but also open avenues to develop health information literacy as well assisting individuals to have basic comprehension skills.
